Murray Contractors partnered with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to transform a shell space into a fully functional CT imaging suite designed to support the institution’s expanding diagnostic imaging services. The project required precise coordination, specialized construction techniques, and seamless integration of imaging technology within an active healthcare environment.
The renovation included building out the CT procedure room, control room, equipment room, and supporting infrastructure. To meet the technical requirements of the CT system, the team installed structural supports, radiation shielding, specialized electrical and low-voltage systems, HVAC modifications, and precise environmental controls to ensure equipment performance and patient comfort. Clean, durable finishes and efficient room layouts were incorporated to streamline workflow for clinical staff and enhance the patient experience.
Working within an occupied hospital setting, Murray Contractors implemented strict infection control procedures, noise and dust mitigation strategies, and carefully sequenced construction activities to avoid disruptions to nearby operations. Close collaboration with UAMS stakeholders, WER Architects, and equipment vendors ensured that the room was delivered on schedule and fully prepared for equipment installation and commissioning.
The completed CT suite provides UAMS with another modern imaging environment that supports high-quality patient care and complements the institution’s commitment to leading edge diagnostic technology.
