UAMS selected Murray Contractors to provide services through their JOC contract for the renovation of the emergency department psychiatric holding facility. The project included replacing all components (lights, HVAC grilles, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, etc.) throughout the space with anti-ligature equipment for patient safety. Walls and Ceilings were also replaced to provide hard tamper-proof barriers as well as tamper-proof finishes. Murray Contractors was chosen for this project because of the compressed 3-week project schedule and the sensitivity of the work area. The project was run on a 7-day-per-week extended workday schedule to meet the schedule requirements. The project was delivered on time.
